G. Scott Williams, Esq. Scott Williams recently joined Target Insurance Services as the Vice President of Underwriting and General Manager of our Chicago, Illinois office. Mr. Williams has over 22 years of experience and is responsible for overseeing and managing the underwriting of Target's lawyers professional liability program. In addition to his extensive professional liability experience, he is also licensed to practice law as an attorney and counselor in the state of Illinois. Prior to joining Target, Scott worked for Interstate Insurance Group and served as the Vice President of Non-Medical Professional Liability program. While at Interstate he was promoted to Vice President of the Professional Liability Division and was responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, distribution management, and internal control and governance of the division. Scott held positions of increasing responsibility with Westport Insurance Corporation from 1988 - 2000. In these positions, he oversaw profit and loss performance as well as underwriting, claims, and actuary management of 11 lawyer programs with an annual premium in excess of $40 million. He designed and implemented a national strategy for provision of risk management services for professional liability customers and implemented Westport's Litigation Management Program for all lines of business. Scott began his career as a Navy JAG, defending misdemeanor and
felony cases while stationed in the Philippines. He proceeded to
private practice as a trial and appellate attorney defending personal
and commercial insurance clients as well as municipalities. He obtained
his Juris Doctor from IIT/Chicago Kent College of Law and obtained
a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from Northwestern University.
